Another series to read :)

I unintentionally read two books at the same time this week that happened to be so similar I’m surprised I didn’t confuse them. Luckily, although both have the same premise that freedom is taken for granted and no government should be in full control of it’s peoples’ lives, the authors have a completely different way of writing which let me enjoy each book separately :)

I started with the giver a week ago, just to reread it since I loved it as a kid.

Then, my friend Kassi recommended a new series to me, the Matched series by Ally Condie, saying that it was a lot like The Giver so, naturally, I downloaded an audio the next day. I figured if I had the audio I could read The Giver before bed and then listen to this new series during tedious activities during the day such as getting ready for work, driving to work, washing the dishes, etc. It worked out splendidly. :)

So very excited to read the next book in the series, Crossed. Not sure if I’ll download the audio though…the author read the voices kinda funny in my opinion. And no matter how convenient it is to listen to a book rather than find the time to sit down and read it, I think I’ll always prefer the voices my head gives the characters.

Til’ next time, happy reading :)
